The Maintenance Staff position at the YMCA of Southwest Florida is a part-time role primarily based at the Palmer Ranch Branch, with the expectation to assist at the Sarasota Branch as needed. The staff member will perform routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on various properties, including mechanical equipment. Key responsibilities include performing repairs on buildings and equipment, such as replacing broken windows, repairing doors and locks, and installing window blinds. The staff member will also be responsible for installing and repairing plumbing fixtures, including toilets, sinks, and urinals, as well as electrical wiring and lighting fixtures. Responding to emergency maintenance requests is a critical aspect of the job, as is assisting with renovation and remodeling projects, which may involve repairing plaster and drywall and conducting interior and exterior painting. In addition to these tasks, the Maintenance Staff will uphold safety requirements and cleaning protocols throughout the day, conduct routine inspections of grounds and buildings, and initiate repairs as needed.
