About the position

The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee maintenance operations at a major powertrain plant, providing support across all shifts. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with safety standards, diagnosing equipment issues, and implementing maintenance strategies to enhance operational efficiency. The supervisor will also be responsible for training staff, managing projects, and coordinating with various teams to meet production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with corporate safety policies, initiatives, and housekeeping standards.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Support plant goals related to Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness and Cost goals (SPQRC).
  • Oversee construction and maintenance projects, maintaining schedule and quality standards.
  • Assist in implementing divisional and corporate policies, including labor agreements.
  • Train, evaluate, and develop employees to meet operational standards.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to resolve issues as needed.
  • Plan and execute maintenance activities within budget, manpower, and time constraints.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate Degree or higher education is welcomed.
  • Minimum of 2 years of practical relevant experience; 4+ years preferred.
  • Experience in machine, assembly, and/or facility areas.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Experience supervising a multi-trade workforce.
  • Strong knowledge of tooling, manufacturing, and assembly processes.
  • High level of analytical ability to solve complex problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to work well with others and exhibit teamwork skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with Union (UAW) personnel is a plus.
  • Tech-savvy individuals are a plus.
  • Experience with CNC machinery is preferred.
