About the position

Columbus Craft Meats is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for the 2nd shift. The company has evolved from a small Italian craft meat shop in San Francisco to a national producer of authentic cured craft meats and all-natural deli products. Family-owned for 90 years, Columbus values high-quality products and loyalty to its consumers and community. The Maintenance Supervisor will manage a team of maintenance technicians to ensure optimal equipment reliability and adherence to safety and efficiency standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of maintenance technicians who perform necessary repair and maintenance activities.
  • Assign work to maintenance personnel based on established priorities.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and efficiently, following required maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Ensure team members possess necessary skills and training, clearly communicate expectations, and hold individuals accountable.
  • Utilize the company's Enterprise Asset Management System for creating and assigning work orders, requisitions for parts, and spare parts inventory management.
  • Manage timecards for all assigned team members.
  • Provide input for budget preparation and implementation plans for maintenance and reliability improvement projects.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and company policies.
  • Utilize plant performance data to identify opportunities for efficiency and reliability improvements.

Requirements

  • High school education and/or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience managing a team of 3 to 10 mechanics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in 3 of the following skills: mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, refrigeration, and welding.
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Ability to work weekends if required.
  • Ability to work with raw meat and in a wet and cold environment.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership traits and effective communication skills.
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.
