The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for performing, coordinating, and supervising various engineering, maintenance, and repair tasks involving vehicles, equipment, buildings, and utility systems. This position requires providing the necessary level of supervision to ensure that services are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and expediently. You will have personal contact with all levels of Carillon staff, residents, visitors, and outside agencies, making your role crucial in maintaining a welcoming and functional environment. Daily responsibilities include fixing wall covers, floor covers, and some furniture and fixtures, performing light plumbing work, minor electrical repairs, and appliance repairs. You will assist in planning, scheduling, and supervising maintenance staff, inspect equipment for repair or maintenance needs, and complete assigned work orders daily. Additionally, you will perform painting and refurbishing projects, routine preventive maintenance, and install locks and track outstanding keys for the entire campus. Your role will also involve troubleshooting and installing various systems, fixing plumbing and lighting fixtures, and assisting residents with daily non-health care needs. This position is essential in ensuring that the living environment is safe, comfortable, and well-maintained for all residents and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties such as fixing wall covers, floor covers, and some furniture and fixtures.
  • Conduct light plumbing work, minor electrical repair, and appliance repairs.
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and supervising maintenance staff.
  • Inspect equipment to determine repair or maintenance needs and cleanliness.
  • Complete assigned work orders daily according to work order system policy.
  • Perform painting and refurbishing projects as directed by supervisor.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance as directed by supervisor.
  • Install locks, create keys, re-key cylinders, and track outstanding keys for the entire campus.
  • Troubleshoot and install PERS call system.
  • Install phone, cable, and network lines.
  • Fix plumbing and lighting fixtures.
  • Test, fix, install, and replace appliances.
  • Accomplish all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
  • Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
  • Hang pictures, move furniture, and assist residents with daily non-health care needs.

Requirements

  • Must have effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must be skilled in the use of all appropriate machinery, tools, and construction supplies.
  • Must have an understanding of general construction and engineering practices.
  • Have a High School diploma/GED.
  • Have some Technical Schooling and/or background preferred.
  • Have a minimum of three (3) years experience in plant and/or residential maintenance necessary.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
