About the position

The Maintenance Supervisor at Balchem Corporation is responsible for managing and coordinating all activities of the Maintenance department at the Marshfield, WI manufacturing plant. This role involves providing leadership and strategic planning to achieve corporate objectives, implementing preventive maintenance activities, and ensuring that all work is tracked and documented using the CMMS system. The supervisor will manage department staff and budget, maintain equipment and facilities, and ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the Maintenance staff at the Marshfield facility.
  • Schedule and supervise maintenance activities for efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Coordinate repairs or modifications with other plant departments and manage personnel assignments.
  • Manage maintenance department costs, including labor, parts, and equipment, within budget.
  • Select and manage maintenance department employees, conduct training, and perform evaluations.
  • Work with engineering or construction personnel on building and construction projects to ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
  • Coordinate and supervise work activities of contractors for capital projects.
  • Ensure security of the Marshfield Plant, including alarm systems and entry systems.
  • Maintain and operate Boilers, chillers, air compressors, and treatment equipment.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and order replacement supplies as needed.
  • Utilize the work order system for planning maintenance schedules.
  • Keep proper files on plant equipment and projects, including manuals and repair history.
  • Provide technical training to maintenance personnel to ensure required skill sets are attained.
  • Support corporate safety goals and ensure adherence to safety programs.
  • Supervise janitorial services and maintain buildings and grounds.
  • Perform maintenance mechanic duties as necessary and provide troubleshooting assistance.
  • Prepare and submit activity reports, project proposals, and cost analyses to the Plant Manager.

Requirements

  • Specialized training beyond high school in mechanical, electrical, and building trades.
  • 5 to 10 years of related experience in a supervisory capacity with industrial work experience.
