Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to station staff.
  • Ensure the effective utilization of personnel and equipment.
  • Serve as the liaison to the corporate headquarters.
  • Enforce corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Direct and assist assigned Mechanics as necessary to accomplish all maintenance functions in accordance with company maintenance manuals, policies and procedures, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Perform On-The-Job technical training on aircraft maintenance practices, company policies, safety procedures and general information where required.
  • Ensure proper and legible completion of all company forms for all work assigned and performed, and correct disposition processing upon completion.
  • Maintain the work areas, buildings and materials utilized for aircraft maintenance in a safe, clean and operative condition.
  • Sign for own work and co-sign for the work of other Mechanics in the section; however, signing shall not relieve any other Mechanics in the group from the responsibility for the work they performed.
  • Conserve and protect Southern Airways funds, property, equipment and materials.
  • Ensure that Mechanics assigned adhere to Southern Airways published Policies and Procedures, including manufacturer instructions and Southern Airways Task Cards.
  • Hold RII and Airworthiness Release Authority.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by direct reports.

Requirements

  • Airframe and Powerplant license
  • 2 years of industry experience
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Computer skills - ability to learn reservation and phone systems, proficient with a PC
  • Basic math abilities
  • Ability to work within a 24/7 operation including holidays
  • Ability to pass 10-year background check and pre-employment drug screen as required by airline industry regulations or company policy.
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. per the Immigration Act of 1986
