About the position

The role of the Maintenance Supervisor at JLL is pivotal in ensuring the proper operation of process equipment and central systems that support the Powertrain Lab and site operations. This position is integral to the Facility Management program, which oversees the operations and maintenance of building systems and equipment. The Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team of maintenance technicians and UAW trades, including electricians, HVAC specialists, and machine repair personnel. The Supervisor will also be involved in various aspects of facility management, including the maintenance of manufacturing process equipment, mechanical and electrical systems, and environmental health and safety compliance. The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee operations related to tank farm operations, bulk fluid management, and compressed gas storage and distribution systems. They will ensure that all equipment, such as regenerative thermal oxidizers, oil mist collectors, and temperature control systems, are functioning optimally. The role requires a strong focus on preventative and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure safety compliance. The Supervisor will also be responsible for maintaining spare and replacement parts inventories and ensuring that all maintenance activities are documented and reported accurately. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Maintenance Supervisor will play a key role in personnel management, ensuring compliance with training requirements, coordinating employee schedules, and maintaining records. The position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. The Supervisor will also be expected to participate in safety training and incident reporting, ensuring that all safety-related objectives are met and that the workplace remains compliant with OSHA and other regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the proper operation of process equipment and central systems to support the Powertrain Lab and site operations.
  • Manage a team of maintenance technicians and UAW trades, including electricians, HVAC specialists, and machine repair personnel.
  • Oversee tank farm operations, bulk fluid management, and compressed gas storage and distribution systems.
  • Maintain manufacturing process equipment, including regenerative thermal oxidizers and oil mist collectors.
  • Implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain spare and replacement parts inventories.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety regulations, including waste removal and HAZMAT compliance.
  • Coordinate employee training schedules and maintain training records.
  • Participate in safety training and incident reporting, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
  • Respond to work orders and manage the spare parts ordering process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate or bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
  • Three plus years of facility management and automotive manufacturing or industrial experience recommended.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical systems diagnosis and repair, including pumps, motors, and hydraulics.
  • Ability to read electrical prints and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of maintenance systems such as MAXIMO/CORRIGO.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with controller programs, including JCI, Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, and Siemens.
  • Familiarity with building automation systems and energy conservation support.
