About the position

The Maintenance Supervisor at Shaker Collection is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the comfort and safety of residents through effective maintenance management. This position requires a professional and courteous demeanor, as the Maintenance Supervisor will interact frequently with residents, making their role crucial for resident retention. The supervisor will oversee various maintenance tasks, manage work orders, order supplies, and maintain the make-ready board. The role operates primarily Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with the possibility of weekends or evenings for emergency situations or on-call coverage. The Maintenance Supervisor will be expected to have a strong background in general maintenance, with specific skills in plumbing repairs, electrical repairs, HVAC repairs, and general carpentry work. Experience with boilers is highly desired. The successful candidate will also be responsible for performing inspections, minor roof repairs, and appliance repairs, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. In addition to technical skills, the Maintenance Supervisor must possess strong organizational abilities to manage work orders and supplies effectively. The role requires a valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as the supervisor may need to travel for work-related tasks. The ability to work as part of a team and participate in a rotating on-call schedule is essential for this position.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage maintenance tasks to ensure resident comfort and safety.
• Order supplies and manage work orders effectively.
• Enter purchase orders and maintain the make-ready board.
• Perform plumbing repairs and electrical repairs as needed.
• Conduct HVAC repairs and general carpentry work.
• Inspect roofing and perform minor roof repairs.
• Replace locks, smoke alarms, and screens as necessary.
• Repair appliances and replace broken windows.

Requirements

• General maintenance experience is required; property management experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
• Basic hand tools are required for the job.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with boiler systems is highly desired.
