About the position

This position requires a proactive approach to developing maintenance processes, including Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Root Cause Analysis, and predictive maintenance techniques. The supervisor will also be responsible for managing the work order system, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring that maintenance activities align with departmental goals and budgetary constraints. The role involves supervising a team of hourly technicians, providing training and coaching to enhance their skills and performance. The Maintenance Supervisor will be tasked with developing metrics to track departmental performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives, ultimately striving to establish a world-class maintenance operation within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise hourly technicians.
  • Develop and implement maintenance processes including TPM, preventative maintenance, Root Cause Analysis, and predictive maintenance.
  • Oversee the work order system and prioritize open work orders effectively.
  • Create and enforce policies and procedures related to maintenance functions.
  • Plan work tasks and schedules to maximize department efficiency.
  • Train and coach personnel based on individual and business needs.
  • Control departmental spending to meet or exceed budgetary goals.
  • Develop and track metrics for continuous improvement in maintenance operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field preferred.
  • 5-7 years of supervisory experience in a maintenance or technician role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with injection molding and high-speed assembly/packaging preferred.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to train maintenance team members on new procedures.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
