About the position

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production and facility equipment. This role aims to support the manufacturing facility's business goals by developing work standards, prioritizing tasks, and evaluating the effectiveness of the maintenance team. The supervisor will engage in continuous improvement activities and coordinate preventative maintenance with the manufacturing department.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of production maintenance associates and direct maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate the installation and maintenance of production machines and equipment.
  • Manage emergency and scheduled repairs of production equipment.
  • Develop sustainable maintenance processes to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Engage in continuous improvement activities with the team.
  • Coordinate equipment preventative maintenance with the manufacturing department.
  • Maintain and enhance the computer maintenance management system.
  • Develop an effective tool management process to reduce tool spend and increase productivity.
  • Prioritize work orders to allocate capital and maintenance resources effectively.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders for maintenance tasks.
  • Review equipment maintenance records for accuracy and relevance.
  • Analyze maintenance trends and integrate industry trends to predict maintenance needs.
  • Prepare and administer the maintenance budget, monitor expenditures, and submit justifications for equipment.
  • Support inventory optimization using risk analysis and vendor partnerships.
  • Report on maintenance work progress, costs, and labor allocation.
  • Develop maintenance checklists and special instructions for equipment outages.
  • Identify and develop plans for preventative and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Assign work duties to team members to meet operational requirements.
  • Provide feedback, training, and performance reviews to team members.

Requirements

  • Four years of facility maintenance experience, including supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Preferred: Two years of college-level coursework in business, management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent project coordination skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills for data-based problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to lead and inspire team members and build working relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Effective communication skills with co-workers and customers.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on quality in work tasks.
  • Ability to handle challenges skillfully and effectively.
  • Independently seek opportunities for skill improvement and job knowledge enhancement.
  • Efficient mathematical calculation skills.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work on time.
  • Good judgment in decision-making and resource management.
