The Maintenance Technician B position at HP Hood involves performing various maintenance tasks in a manufacturing environment, focusing on welding, electrical work, boiler operation, refrigeration, and machinery repair. Responsibilities

• Lay out materials and fabricate according to plant blueprints and sketches.
• Use all types of welding rods for proper bonding, penetration and flow.
• Practice proper use of cutting torch and acetylene welder.
• Demonstrate proper use and application of electrical test OVM meter.
• Perform proper installations of electrical motors.
• Install conduit and pull electrical wires to code.
• Perform feed water tests and add proper chemicals as needed for boilers.
• Maintain proper TDS levels in the boiler.
• Operate boilers on natural gas or fuel.
• Maintain head pressures to obtain proper temperatures in refrigeration systems.
• Switch refrigeration compressors from high side to low side or intermediate side as needed.
• Perform and maintain oil drained from ammonia in refrigeration systems.
• Follow factory assembly blueprints for machinery repair.
• Demonstrate proper use of hand tools and shop equipment.
• Perform assigned duties with minimal supervision and respond to work orders in a timely manner.
• Maintain records and logs as required and support change over and startup of assigned area.

Requirements

• GED or High School Diploma.
• At least 3+ years' experience in manufacturing.
• Prior experience in industrial maintenance.
• Intermediate computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).
• Excellent troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to work well with people and communicate effectively.
• Multi-tasking abilities and ability to work independently.
