About the position

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for maintaining physical assets in compliance with industry standards and government regulations, focusing on the operation of equipment associated with the coffee manufacturing process. This role requires a medium degree of self-sufficiency in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex manufacturing and support equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety in the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, plan, and perform operations to install, modify, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, rebuild, and dismantle manufacturing and support equipment.
  • Perform preventative, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on production and building equipment.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with technicians, production personnel, and management.
  • Perform unscheduled or emergency repairs on equipment as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and correct complex problems on manufacturing equipment in a timely manner.
  • Identify and design opportunities for maintenance or process improvement.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment in compliance with procedures and regulations.
  • Assist other maintenance technicians as needed and provide training or direction.
  • Obtain certification to operate MEWPs and Class 1-7 Forklifts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Industrial Maintenance field.
  • Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance or equivalent education preferred.
  • Ability to pass CMT-1 certification test within 60 days of employment.
  • Experience with 3-phase motors, gearboxes, bearings, solenoid valves, vacuum pumps, and other mechanical components.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience utilizing CMMS software such as SAP or Fiix.
  • LOTO and Arc Flash training.
  • High degree of troubleshooting in HMIs, Mechanical, and Electrical systems.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office for E-mail, Word, and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Industrial Electrician Certification
  • 5+ years' experience of manufacturing maintenance in a food grade facility
  • Allen Bradley VFD training
  • Ability to read and understand complex instructions, prints, flowcharts, timing diagrams, and schematics.
