About the position

The Maintenance Technician II position at Chewy's Fulfillment Center in Salisbury, NC, is a critical role focused on maintaining the operational efficiency of the facility. This position involves a variety of maintenance tasks, ensuring that all equipment runs smoothly and safely while providing opportunities for skill development in the e-commerce fulfillment industry.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including repairs, housekeeping, plumbing, metal fabrication, and carpentry.
• Ensure all equipment is running efficiently and maintain a safe working environment for all fulfillment Team Members.
• Complete periodic and scheduled general maintenance tasks throughout the facility.
• Conduct daily inspections of conveyor systems, shipping areas, and packing equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
• Maintain responsibility for assigned equipment, minimizing loss, damage, or defects by accurately caring for tools and resources.
• Record repair orders and track parts usage, ensuring all repairs are accurately detailed.
• Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues by visually checking, testing, and evaluating the condition of components, equipment, and circuits.
• Implement all company policies and procedures to maintain high operational standards.

Requirements

• At least 36 months of previous facility maintenance experience in relevant fields.
• Must have electrical experience or understanding.
• Demonstrated electrical knowledge of 24v ac/dc control circuits.
• Demonstrated electrical knowledge of 120v power & control circuits.
• Demonstrated electrical knowledge of 277v-480v power circuits.
• Experience using appropriate tools and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
• Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work at ground level, with the ability to climb and work at elevations up to 35 feet above floor level.
• Interest in math, electricity, shop mechanics, electric motors, and appliances.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of potential exposure to high voltage current, welding equipment, vehicle and equipment lubricants and solvents.
• Ability to work nights and weekends.
• Experience with fire system and fire alarm electronic devices.
• Ability to read, understand & interpret electrical, pneumatic, & plumbing schematics.
• Experience with conveyor mechanical systems (belts, drives, tracking valves).
• Experience with VFD motor controllers.
