The Hotels Maintenance Technician undertakes the responsibility of preserving the buildings overall operational condition and functionality. A Maintenance Technician is a thorough professional with a practical approach and attention to detail that can work autonomously and responsibly; all to maintain the building and common areas in the best possible condition; all while observing all health and safety guidelines to protect our owners, our asset, and staff, and our guests. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The Maintenance Technician will report directly to the Chief Engineer/Maintenance Supervisor and will be responsible for surveying the building and repairing mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards. This includes performing maintenance of electrical systems, such as replacing light bulbs and sockets, cleaning and repairing circuit breaker panels, and maintaining heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality. The technician will also conduct manual repairs when necessary, such as repairing or replacing door locks and window fixtures. Additionally, the technician will conduct ongoing room preventative maintenance programs, resolve maintenance problems, complaints, and work orders, and perform general upkeep procedures as directed, including landscaping, caulking, and painting. A working knowledge of carpentry and painting, as well as drywall and carpet repair work, is essential. The technician will inspect the property to identify potential and current needs and perform other tasks as assigned by the Chief Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor. Collaboration with Housekeeping is also required to ensure all equipment within the guest rooms is functioning properly and is part of an effective preventative maintenance program. The position requires a flexible schedule that can accommodate any shifts and assists with staffing coverage in the instance of call-offs. Adherence to all company standards, conduct policies, and procedures is mandatory, as well as following the company’s employee handbook for rules and regulations.
