About the position

The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of various systems and equipment within the assisted living community. This position involves performing routine maintenance tasks, responding to maintenance requests, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations while maintaining positive communication with relevant authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees, coordinates, and completes maintenance tasks for the community facilities.
  • Replaces light bulbs, maintains grounds, repairs electrical systems, paints, performs plumbing tasks, cleans gutters, and maintains HVAC and appliances.
  • Works with the Executive Director to create and implement corrective plans for maintenance deficiencies noted during facility surveys.
  • Completes routine inspections of life safety systems.
  • Coordinates maintenance and repairs of resident units and prepares units for new move-ins.
  • Maintains inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.

Requirements

  • Experience in maintenance or a related field.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in HVAC or electrical systems.
  • Experience in a healthcare or assisted living environment.
