About the position

The Maintenance Tech position at Big Rock Sports involves ensuring the facility operates smoothly by performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks. The role requires routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and executing minor repairs across different systems, including electrical and plumbing. The technician will also maintain records of maintenance activities and assist in ordering necessary supplies.

Responsibilities

• Routine inspection of building, grounds, and equipment.
• Changing light bulbs and hanging signs.
• Checking emergency lights and dock doors/plates.
• Identifying issues and determining the best way to fix them.
• Performing minor electrical repairs such as switches and outlets.
• Conducting minor plumbing repairs including leaking pipes and toilet repairs.
• Moving equipment to staging areas for repairs using forklifts and order pickers.
• Fixing drywall, painting, and repairing doors.
• Replacing door locks and maintaining warehouse floors.
• Fixing or adding racking as needed.
• Working with management to order supplies for building or repairs.
• Maintaining records of maintenance and repairs as part of a preventive maintenance plan.
• Keeping the maintenance area well organized.

Requirements

• At least one year of building maintenance, construction, plumbing, or electrician experience is strongly preferred.
• A certification in building maintenance is a plus.
• Must be able to operate Order Picker/Reach Truck/Scissor Lift or be willing to learn.
• Must have a driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Effective communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting at least 50 pounds.
• Must not be afraid of heights.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in plumbing and electrical work.
• Certification in building maintenance.
