About the position

The Maintenance Technician 1 at Novolex is responsible for performing preventive and repair maintenance on production machinery and plant equipment. This role ensures compliance with food safety and quality standards while maintaining a safe working environment. The technician will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, conduct routine inspections, and support production operations through effective maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and repair maintenance work on production machinery and plant equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Follow HACCP procedures and complete necessary documentation.
  • Contact responsible persons for corrective actions on non-conformances.
  • Document preventive maintenance activities to ensure product quality.
  • Use proper lubricants, filters, and materials to maintain food safety.
  • Follow maintenance procedures to promote food safety and quality.
  • Clean up after maintenance procedures, ensuring no contamination occurs.
  • Perform line reconciliation of parts and tools, cleaning tools after each use.
  • Ensure only proper chemicals are used and follow clean-up procedures for non-food grade chemicals.
  • Participate in a culture of food safety and adhere to attendance guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and process problems with production equipment.
  • Provide technical support for production operations.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and upgrade production lines as needed.
  • Regularly inspect production lines and schedule preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain the building and equipment in a safe working condition.
  • Report unsafe conditions to management and assist in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical breakdowns.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a maintenance mechanic/technician role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.
