About the position

This position is responsible for ensuring production and facility equipment is working at all times. He/she will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all equipment. He/she will follow preventive maintenance schedules along with existing protocol including building maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations
• General knowledge required in mechanics (gears, bearings, pulleys, belts, etc.), pneumatics and electric drives
• Maintain inventory of repair parts and supplies
• Conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance service
• Provides emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production
• Conducts scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
• Performs mechanic skills including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, or plumbing issues, replace or repair parts, test, and make necessary adjustments
• Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
• Complies with all safety regulations and maintains a clean and orderly work area
• Learns and complies with all company policies and procedures including safety guidelines and practices
• Performs all other tasks as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawing, and/or schematics
• Preference given for maintenance experience
