About the position

The Maintenance Technician position at Saddle Creek Logistics Services involves performing electrical troubleshooting and mechanical maintenance in a new facility in Phoenix, AZ. The role requires a strong background in packaging and equipment maintenance, with a focus on electrical installation, PLC knowledge, and preventative maintenance. The technician will be responsible for machine installation, control wiring, and routine maintenance duties, ensuring the efficient operation of various automated systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine installation and control wiring installations.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues to the component level.
• Understand and troubleshoot PLC systems (not programming).
• Anchor equipment and run conduit.
• Pull wire and terminate conductors.
• Maintain and rebuild equipment, including conveyor systems and robotics.
• Conduct routine maintenance duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years' experience in packaging and equipment maintenance with an emphasis on electrical installation.
• Experience with preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting in conveyors, robotics, over wrappers, palletizers, shrink wrappers, casers, air compressors, and boilers.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting automated conveyor equipment preferred.
• Certifications in basic electrical, mechanical, motor control relay logic, and schematic reading preferred.
• Experience operating boom and scissor lifts required.
• HVAC Certification required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with basic electrical test instruments including VOM multi-meter and clamp on ampere meter.
• Ability to troubleshoot sensors and photo eyes related to PLC operation.
• Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic cylinders and MAC valves.
• Ability to maintain and operate boilers and steam tunnels.
