About the position
As a Maintenance Technician at Steel Technologies, you will play a crucial role in enhancing safety, quality, and efficiency within the plant. Your primary responsibilities will include performing preventative, routine, and emergency mechanical and electrical maintenance, as well as troubleshooting to ensure that operations run smoothly at all times. This position requires a commitment to maintaining equipment and addressing safety concerns, contributing significantly to the overall functionality of the facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on all plant machinery.
- Carry out the preventative maintenance program for the plant.
- Communicate non-compliance problems to the supervisor for instruction.
- Identify and address safety concerns throughout the facility.
- Maintain general housekeeping and organization of the maintenance department and repair work areas.
- Continuously review the operation of plant equipment and systems to minimize downtime.
- Anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs effectively.
- Accurately fill out documentation on work orders.
- Perform emergency maintenance repairs to all plant machinery.
Requirements
- 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical industrial knowledge and basic electrical knowledge.
- Ability to operate motor control systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatics, hoists, fire protection, and mechanical bearing systems.
- Experience operating metal working tools such as grinder, band saw, drill press, and welding equipment.
- Ability to retrieve and input data using Excel and CMMS System.
- Ability to comply with safety rules and requirements.
Nice-to-haves
- Mechatronics certificate is strongly desired but not required.
