About the position

The Maintenance Technician 2 position is responsible for performing scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on equipment to ensure operational efficiency. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The technician will also assist in training other technicians and participate in local engineering upgrades and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and audits.
  • Conduct electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting and repairs in response to equipment errors or failures.
  • Make recommendations on repair strategies and priorities.
  • Assist Operators with minor maintenance issues to maintain standard operating efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and resolve routine issues independently.
  • Conduct rebuilds on equipment and maintain records of repairs and calibrations.
  • Identify and evaluate improvement activities for increased results.
  • Review and interpret performance data to implement improvement activities.
  • Train other technicians and assist Level 3 Maintenance Technicians.
  • Assist with facilities maintenance and other assigned duties.
  • Lead and assist with local Engineering upgrades and projects.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required).
  • Typically requires four to five years' experience or equivalent education.
  • Strong mechanical reasoning skills and conscientiousness.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under time constraints.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using Windows based PC applications.
  • Experience with electronics and pneumatics.
  • Intermediate electrical troubleshooting on AC / DC circuits with multi-meter.
  • Basic root cause analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with saws, drills, cutters, grinders, torches, welders, and other fabrication equipment.
