About the position

The Maintenance Technician is a skilled journeyman responsible for installing, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment related to hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems within an injection molding manufacturing facility. This role is crucial for ensuring the operational efficiency of equipment such as injection molding machines and auxiliary systems, contributing to the overall success of Summit Polymers as a leading automotive supplier.

Responsibilities

• Mentoring and monitoring apprentices
• Correcting safety issues involving equipment and facilities
• Performing preventative maintenance on equipment such as injection molding machines, paint lines, and process water systems
• Using knowledge gained through education and experience to troubleshoot and perform problem-solving on equipment throughout the manufacturing facility, leading to root cause corrective actions and repairs
• Installing, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical equipment

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Journeyman card preferred
• A minimum of 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment required
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and/or mechanical systems required
• Experience with troubleshooting and repairing electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems preferred

• Possesses the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices
• A minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment (Traditional score of 20 on the Cognitive portion)
