About the position

The Maintenance Technician is a skilled technician responsible for maintaining and repairing production machinery and automated systems in a manufacturing environment. This role involves troubleshooting, installations, and performing preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance. The technician will work primarily on the 2nd shift and may be required to work overtime on weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, modifies, rebuilds and performs preventive/predictive maintenance on all production machinery, automated and electrical systems.
  • Exhibits proficiency in performing regular adjustments, calibrations and repair work in response to department demands during both production and non-production hours.
  • Responds to emergency breakdowns and needs in a timely manner, adhering to OSHA Lockout/Tagout and Company safety regulations.
  • Informs production supervisors of any necessary modifications or system malfunctions that would affect their area of operation.
  • Maintains log books and applies math skills through the equipment PM stages to calibrate machinery to performance standards.
  • Provides hands-on training and direction to lower-level mechanics and techs in servicing, repairing, and maintaining equipment operated by the Company.
  • May lead other mechanics and techs, monitoring their work, attendance, start-ups, and set-ups.

Requirements

  • Associates degree and/or Technical School certification or relevant training is strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience maintaining manufacturing systems and equipment in an automated plant.
  • Training/experience with compressed air systems, boilers, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Must have personal tools and be able to use hand tools and industrial shop equipment.
  • Knowledge of math related to performing maintenance activities.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot PLCs.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes.
  • Ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions with high detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to identify root causes and resolve issues.
