About the position
The Maintenance Technician position at Morgan Truck Body involves performing troubleshooting and repairs on electrical and mechanical systems associated with production equipment and facilities. The role requires a hands-on approach to maintenance, ensuring safety and adherence to company policies while working in a team-oriented environment. The technician will utilize various tools and equipment, maintain production efficiency, and contribute to the overall safety and quality standards of the workplace.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic troubleshooting and repair of electrical and mechanical systems associated with production equipment and facilities.
- Utilize general millwright techniques, welding, rigging, and troubleshooting electrical devices and circuits.
- Read blueprints and schematics to understand equipment layouts and repair needs.
- Implement predictive and preventative maintenance practices, including knowledge of LOTO, Fall Protection, and Confined Space practices.
- Safely operate hand and portable tools, both powered and non-powered, on a daily basis.
- Use precision measuring equipment and electrical test equipment as required.
- Operate complex heavy equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and overhead cranes.
- Work from elevated areas using proper fall protection measures.
- Read and interpret work orders to apply to tasks at hand.
- Meet physical requirements including lifting up to 35 lbs and standing for long periods.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED preferred.
- At least 2 years' experience working in a maintenance department associated with a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Basic knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and electrical circuits (AC and DC).
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in welding and fabrication.
