Repair and Maintenance
About the position
The Maintenance Technician position at Michael Foods, Inc. involves performing maintenance tasks across the facility, focusing on process and production maintenance. The role requires a multi-craft skill set to handle equipment breakdowns, installations, and process improvements, ensuring machine reliability and supporting continuous improvement activities.
Responsibilities
- Utilize CMMS to support the maintenance function including review, execution, and documentation of scheduled/unscheduled work daily.
- Diagnose and repair all machinery and process malfunctions, being fluent in mechanical troubleshooting.
- Repair and maintain mechanical power transmission equipment, including gear boxes and variable speed applications.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, and vacuum systems.
- Overhaul process pumps, automatic control valves, sensors, and related systems.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and piping diagrams.
- Adhere to safe work practices and ensure compliance with GMPs and food safety regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum one year of experience in the maintenance field.
- Experience with boilers and steam systems.
- Experience with industrial refrigeration systems, preferably ammonia refrigeration.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment installation and repair.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Allen Bradley systems.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E standards.
- Skilled in machine shop fabrication within specific tolerances.
