About the position

The Maintenance Technician at Opta Group LLC is responsible for inspecting and repairing machinery, performing preventive maintenance, and maintaining logs of repairs and inventory. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of production facilities and requires a blend of mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement.
• Performs preventive building maintenance duties and repairs, such as doorknobs or locks, patching holes in walls, and replacing light bulbs.
• Performs routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets, sinks, or urinals, fixing water leaks, leaking faucets, and water fountains.
• Paints interior and exterior walls as needed.
• Conducts mechanical repairs and maintenance on equipment.
• Keeps daily maintenance logs and records of equipment maintenance.
• Operates a forklift as required.
• Works in compliance with company safety and operating procedures.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Mechanical knowledge
• Previous forklift experience
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Previous experience in a production/manufacturing setting
• Capable of working in a team and independently
• Capable of following a production report while working independently
