About the position

As a Maintenance Technician for Materne North America located in Traverse City, MI, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our high-speed production and food processing lines. Your primary responsibility will be to troubleshoot and repair automated equipment, ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and effectively. This position requires a strong mechanical and electrical background, as well as the ability to work with computer interfaces to monitor equipment performance. You will also be responsible for maintaining effective Preventive Maintenance programs, which are essential for minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. In this role, you will detect equipment problems and communicate effectively with the production team to address any issues that arise. You will manage projects with regard to time, safety, and resources, ensuring that all maintenance activities are documented using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Your ability to make good decisions and manage your time effectively will be critical to your success in this position. Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair automated high speed manufacturing and packaging equipment
  • Work with computer interface to monitor equipment

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Vocational Technical Training or some College strongly preferred
  • Strong mechanical and electrical background
  • Strong troubleshooting ability
  • Moderate computer skills
  • Understand automation concepts; PLCs (programmable logic controllers)
  • Time management skills
  • Experience with high speed automation is a plus
  • Prior experience within a manufacturing environment is required
  • Previous experience working in the food industry is a plus
  • Journeyman card is a plus
  • Good decision making skills required
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule as dictated by production needs
