Maintenance Technician (Cast House)

About the position

The Maintenance Technician position at Howmet Aerospace in Barberton, OH, is a full-time role focused on maintaining and repairing equipment in a fast-paced aluminum casting operation. The technician will ensure the operational integrity of machinery, support maintenance activities, and promote safety within the team. Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on continuous process machinery.
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment and perform necessary repairs.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment throughout the casting process lifecycle.
• Dismantle devices and machines to access and remove defective parts.
• Replace pumps, motors, chains, sprockets, and cables as needed.
• Troubleshoot PLC logic and adjust hydraulic systems.
• Maintain personal safety equipment and promote safety regulations.
• Complete required preventative maintenance tasks and associated paperwork.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of two years' experience in mechanical or electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge and experience reading electrical and hydraulic drawings/schematics.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge and experience working with combustion systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of employee, equipment, and product safety.
• Experience with equipment troubleshooting.
• Five years of experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment or foundry.
