About the position
The Maintenance Technician Development Program is designed for individuals aspiring to obtain their Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) licenses. This program offers mentorship and a structured path towards certification, requiring participants to commit to a minimum of 30 months of employment with Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines after completion. Participants will engage in quarterly check-ins with mentors and maintain communication regarding their curriculum progress while gaining essential skills for a career in aviation maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Currently enrolled and in good standing with an approved A&P school.
- Conduct quarterly check-ins with assigned mentor/leader.
- Maintain effective communication with the company on curriculum progress.
- Commit to work for Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines for 2.5 years post program completion and sign an agreement confirming this requirement.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a certified FAR 147 FAA Airframe and Powerplant Program.
- Obtain and maintain A&P License within 90 days of graduation.
- Possess excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to consistently lift 70 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, reach and grasp.
- Be adaptable to performing work according to set procedures.
- Able to work independently or in a team environment.
- Be organized and pay attention to details.
- Valid driver's license.
- Flexible to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to communicate in English.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to obtain or currently possess a valid passport.
- Be able to obtain and maintain airport AOA badge.
