About the position

Career Strategies is urgently seeking skilled and experienced Maintenance Technicians in the Rancho Cucamonga, CA area and surrounding cities for temporary and temp-to-hire opportunities. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for completing work orders, turning vacant units, and performing other required tasks. This position requires at least 6 months of maintenance experience in various tasks including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and appliance installation. The technician should be courteous to residents and provide realistic expectations for completed service requests and work orders. Additionally, the technician will report missing or needed parts to the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager as instructed. This role is essential in maintaining the quality and functionality of apartment communities, ensuring that all maintenance issues are addressed promptly and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Complete work orders and turn vacant units.
  • Perform plumbing repairs including sink, shower, and toilet repairs, replacing fixtures, and unclogging drains.
  • Conduct electrical work such as replacing fixtures and switches/outlets.
  • Carry out carpentry tasks including patching holes, replacing doors/locks, and light touch-up painting.
  • Assist with appliance installation and small repairs, including washing machines, stoves, and garbage disposals.
  • Communicate effectively with residents and provide realistic expectations for service requests.
  • Report missing or needed parts to the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager.

Requirements

  • At least 6 months of maintenance experience in residential maintenance (apartments, hotels, or private homes).
  • General knowledge of all aspects of maintenance repair including drywall repair, plumbing, electrical, and appliance care.
  • Must have personal hand tools and a drill, and bring them to the site daily.
  • Reliable transportation is required, with the ability to travel up to 15-25 miles a day.
  • Ability to communicate well and work in both team and solo environments.
  • HVAC, EPA, or CFC Certification is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual skills are preferred.
