About the position

The Maintenance Technician at Walgreens Fulfillment Center in Mansfield, MA, is responsible for performing minor and routine building maintenance tasks, providing technical support, and executing repairs to equipment and systems. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the facility by addressing employee service requests and assisting the Facilities Manager in implementing a comprehensive preventative maintenance program. The technician will engage in various maintenance functions, including office remodeling, electrical wiring, plumbing, and minor repairs to restroom facilities, doors, windows, lights, locks, and office equipment. In addition to general maintenance, the technician will provide technical support for mechanical and electrical repairs, including pneumatics, conveyor belts, drives, reducers, and peripheral equipment. The role also involves troubleshooting automated pharmacy equipment and systems, ensuring that all automated systems operate efficiently to maximize accuracy and uptime. The technician will be responsible for administering inventory control of equipment spare parts and addressing safety concerns, equipment reliability, and cost efficiency. The Maintenance Technician will coordinate activities with contract suppliers for grounds work, facility repair services, janitorial services, and equipment vendor services as directed. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to implement corrective actions related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. The technician will also assist the Facilities Service Tech Sr. with equipment issues and other responsibilities as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general building maintenance functions such as office remodeling, electrical wiring, plumbing, and minor repairs to restroom facilities, doors, and windows.
  • Provide technical support to mechanical/electrical repairs, including pneumatics, conveyor belts, drives, reducers, and peripheral equipment.
  • Troubleshoot automated pharmacy equipment and systems to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Administer inventory control of equipment spare parts.
  • Ensure safety concerns, equipment reliability, and preventative maintenance work orders are addressed.
  • Coordinate contract suppliers' activities for grounds work, facility repair services, and janitorial services.
  • Assist Facilities Service Tech Sr. with equipment problems and implement corrective actions related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement in all automated systems to maximize accuracy, efficiency, and uptime.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience.
  • 1 year work experience in building trades.
  • Excellent communication, organization, prioritization, and project management skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of plumbing, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic standards and procedures.
  • Client and customer service focused with strong organization, technology, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently without direct supervision.
