About the position

The Maintenance Technician I - Housekeeping position at Uintah County involves performing various facility care and cleaning tasks under the supervision of the General Manager and Assistant Manager. The role includes monitoring custodial supplies, operating cleaning equipment, and ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the facilities, including the Conference Center. The technician will also assist with logistical duties and provide basic assistance to the public.

Responsibilities

• Perform facility care and cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, floor stripping, refinishing, and carpet cleaning.
• Monitor custodial supplies and materials inventory; inform supervisor of shortages.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as power buffers and carpet extraction machines; mix chemicals for specialized cleaning functions.
• Monitor work activities of temporary staffing workers to ensure quality and compliance with assignments.
• Conduct general facility security checks, including opening and closing doors for access during regular hours.
• Perform miscellaneous seasonal or periodic duties, including logistical and minor maintenance tasks.
• Provide basic assistance to the public by directing them to various offices and locations within the facilities.
• Assist with pick-up and building delivery duties as needed.
• Perform ongoing maintenance and cleaning of the UCC and ensure proper kitchen maintenance.
• Complete daily work projects related to custodial cleaning and set up for convention events.
• Troubleshoot Internet Protocol (IP) devices and ensure proper operation of facility systems such as lighting and HVAC.
• Verify credentials of individuals entering and leaving the premises and report disturbances as necessary.
• Assist in landscaping operations and maintenance of sprinkler systems, including the application of fertilizers and pesticides.
• Ensure proper operation of the security alarm system and test fire alarms.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or GED.
• Two years of progressively responsible experience in building maintenance and custodial-related fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Basic understanding of computers and internet functionality.
• Comfortable with heights and ladders.
