About the position

The Maintenance Technician I at Chobani is responsible for the timely repair and preventative maintenance of various plant equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. This role requires troubleshooting mechanical and electrical breakdowns in manufacturing production equipment, while following established safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Technicians must demonstrate strong analytical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complicated problems with minimal initial information.
  • Manage self and communicate effectively with all levels of plant personnel.
  • Work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Serve as a technical resource for operations personnel.
  • Identify root causes of problems and address them effectively.
  • Follow standard work orders and perform tasks accurately.
  • Ensure all work meets or exceeds safety and quality standards.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance calls and work orders with a positive demeanor.
  • Assist operations in solving issues and improving efficiencies.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; 2-year Technical Trade school certification or equivalent preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a food production/manufacturing environment.
  • Experience operating, repairing, and troubleshooting filling, packaging, and processing equipment.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Practical operation of power tools and maintenance shop equipment.
  • Ability to work on your feet for up to 12 hours and lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in the dairy, food, or beverage industry.
  • Military applicable certifications or vocational training.
  • Experience with CMMS/EAM systems.

Benefits

  • Compensation range of $26.75 - $36.25, plus bonus.
