About the position

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for the timely repair and preventative maintenance of plant equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. This role requires troubleshooting mechanical and electrical breakdowns in manufacturing production equipment, while following established safety protocols and technical standards.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve complicated problems with minimal initial information.
• Demonstrate intermediate troubleshooting methodology and technical knowledge.
• Manage self and communicate effectively with all levels of plant personnel.
• Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Serve as a technical resource for operations personnel.
• Address symptoms of problems and identify root causes.
• Follow standard work orders and perform tasks accurately and completely.
• Check work for mistakes and ensure compliance with safety policies.
• Respond promptly to maintenance calls and work orders with a positive demeanor.
• Assist operations in solving issues and improving efficiencies.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement and reliability opportunities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; 2-year Technical Trade school certification or equivalent preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience in a food production/manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating, repairing, and troubleshooting filling, packaging, and processing equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
• Practical operation of power tools and maintenance shop equipment.
• Experience with pumps, mechanical drives, lubrication, piping, and other mechanical systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in the dairy, food, or beverage industry.
• Military applicable certifications or vocational training.
• Journeyman License.

Benefits

• Compensation range of $26.75 - $36.25, plus bonus.
