About the position

The Maintenance Technician I at Chobani is responsible for the timely repair and preventative maintenance of various plant equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to safety and quality standards. This role requires troubleshooting mechanical and electrical breakdowns in manufacturing production equipment, while following established safety protocols and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve complicated problems with minimal initial information.
• Manage self and communicate effectively with all levels of plant personnel.
• Work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Serve as a technical resource for operations personnel.
• Identify root causes of problems and implement solutions.
• Follow standard work orders and perform tasks accurately and completely.
• Check work for mistakes and ensure compliance with safety and quality policies.
• Respond promptly to maintenance calls and work orders with a positive attitude.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
• Adhere to Chobani's safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-year Technical Trade school certification or equivalent preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience in a food production/manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience with filling, packaging, and processing equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
• Practical operation of power tools and maintenance shop equipment.
• Ability to work on your feet for up to 12 hours and lift up to 60 pounds.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in the dairy, food, or beverage industry.
• Military applicable certifications or vocational training.
• Journeyman License.
