About the position

Greenacres Foundation (GAF) is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician I to join our team in Cincinnati, OH. This position is integral to maintaining our facilities and equipment, ensuring that we provide a high-quality experience for all our guests. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment, basic drywall, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and appliance repairs. You will also conduct building inspections, troubleshoot equipment issues, and work with outside contractors to ensure that all maintenance needs are met efficiently and effectively. In this role, you will manage service requests with professionalism and a positive attitude, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and documented daily. You will be expected to perform a full inventory of equipment, diagnose routine maintenance repairs, and carry out various tasks such as electrical work, flooring replacement, locksmith duties, painting, plumbing repairs, and carpentry. The Maintenance Technician will also be involved in home and apartment turnovers, ensuring that all facilities are in top condition for our guests. Responsibilities

  • Manage requests with professionalism and patience and a 'How can I help' attitude
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment
  • Perform basic drywall, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and appliance repairs
  • Accurately document and complete service requests daily
  • Perform full equipment inventory
  • Conduct building inspections and necessary repairs
  • Troubleshoot equipment repairs and needs
  • Work with outside contractors
  • Diagnose and perform routine maintenance repairs including electrical work, flooring, locksmith duties, painting, plumbing, and carpentry
  • Handle home and apartment turnover including household appliance replacement
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in maintenance and repair
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining HVAC equipment
  • PC competency in Word, Excel, and Windows OS
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Experience with burglar and fire alarm troubleshooting is helpful
  • Project management experience is beneficial
  • Ability to adapt and learn new skills
  • Willingness to work holidays, evenings, or weekends if needed
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work well with employees and the public
  • Ability to pass a post-offer pre-employment drug test and fingerprint FBI background screen
  • Ability to work with diverse internal and external partners

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in equine environments
  • Knowledge of metal stud framing
