About the position
At Richelieu Foods we make Great Food from Great People. We are looking for a Maintenance Technician II on 2nd shift to provide support and solutions in our ever-changing food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots mechanical electrical and PLC components, finding resolutions to issues in a safe and timely manner.
- Fabrics, disassembles and assembles production equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Designs and fabricates new equipment to meet production needs.
- Makes necessary adjustments to functional parts of devices and control instruments, based on production requirements.
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment based on schedule or immediate needs.
- Creates and enters work orders for necessary repairs. Allocates and documents hours worked on applicable work orders.
- Welds, performs sheet metal work and employs intermediate shop floor skills (lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools).
- Installs, moves, and relocates machinery/equipment according to blueprints and other drawings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of three to five years' experience in an industrial maintenance role.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting bearings, belts, sheaves, sprockets, chains, and gear reducers and proper alignment of these drive devices.
- Experience in inspection of all included above and the ability to make recommendations on the proper level of replacement and inspection.
- Ability to make recommendations on spare parts, lock-out tag-out, guarding, and the level of operator involvement for proper machine integrity.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience in the food industry and knowledge of GMP's and SQF audits would be valuable.
- Bilingual English/Spanish/Hindi a plus.
