About the position

OnTrac is seeking a Maintenance Technician II specializing in Conveyor Systems to ensure the proper operation, maintenance, and repair of conveyor systems and material handling equipment. This role is crucial for maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The technician will be responsible for routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and responding to breakdowns, contributing to the overall efficiency of operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper operation of conveyor systems and material handling equipment.
• Maintain and provide routine preventive maintenance to conveyor systems.
• Change and repair parts of conveyor systems, rebuild and align equipment, gears, shafts, pulleys, and belts.
• Use illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment.
• Perform housekeeping duties, including work area clean-up and conveyor and equipment clean-up.
• Conduct daily inspections of machinery for potential problems.
• Respond to after-hours calls to ensure MHS (conveyor) systems are working at optimum capacity.
• Adhere to policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 3 years or greater related experience and/or training in mechanical and electrical equipment.
• High voltage electrical experience is required.
• Current Driver's License and clean driving record.
• Knowledge of Material Handling Systems (MHS), industrial conveyor systems and controls in distribution/shipping/sorting environments.
• Knowledge of LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out), PMs (Preventative Maintenance), and 3-Phase electrical work.
• Ability to read and understand schematics and electrical blueprints.
• Mechanical and/or electrical work experience required.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements.

• Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate 24-hour operations; occasionally work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to lift 60 pounds on a routine basis.
