About the position

Simpson Housing is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join our property maintenance team at a premier class A 372-unit mid-rise community located in the vibrant neighborhoods of Uptown Dallas, Deep Ellum, and the Dallas Arts District. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and preserving our luxury community, ensuring a quality living experience for our residents. This position is integral to our mission of providing exceptional service and enhancing the local community. You will utilize your troubleshooting and technical skills to identify and resolve issues related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, sewer/water, swimming pools, and security systems. Your ability to develop a strong rapport with residents will be essential as you assist them with various general maintenance issues, including appliances, flooring, cabinets, locks, and drywall, in a timely manner. In addition to addressing resident concerns, you will work closely with the service team to prepare vacant apartment units, ensuring they meet company specifications and are ready to lease to prospective residents. Maintaining a strong curb appeal at the property will also be part of your responsibilities. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our residents. You will be expected to be on call at times, demonstrating flexibility and dedication to your role within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and preserve a multi-million dollar luxury community ensuring a quality living experience for residents.
  • Utilize troubleshooting and technical skills to identify and resolve issues with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, sewer/water, swimming pools, and security systems.
  • Develop a strong rapport with residents and assist them with resolving various general maintenance issues in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with the service team to prepare vacant apartment units ensuring they are ready to lease to prospective residents per company specifications.
  • Help the service team maintain a strong curb appeal at the property.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of related general maintenance experience.
  • General knowledge and experience with HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, and basic carpentry.
  • CPO certification required (can be obtained after hire).
  • Fair housing training required and CAMT (Apartment Maintenance) certification preferred.
  • Some experience with MS Office Suite (Word and Outlook).
  • Strong customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a luxury apartment community setting.
  • Additional certifications related to building maintenance or facilities management.
