About the position

Simpson Housing is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join our property maintenance team at a premier class A 372-unit mid-rise community located in the vibrant neighborhoods of Uptown Dallas, Deep Ellum, and the Dallas Arts District. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and preserving our luxury community, ensuring a quality living experience for our residents. This position is integral to our mission of providing exceptional service and enhancing the local community. In this role, you will utilize your troubleshooting and technical skills to identify and resolve issues related to HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, sewer/water management, swimming pools, and security systems. You will also develop strong rapport with residents, assisting them with various general maintenance issues, including appliances, flooring, cabinets, locks, and drywall, ensuring timely resolutions. Additionally, you will work closely with the service team to prepare vacant apartment units, ensuring they meet company specifications and are ready for prospective residents. Maintaining strong curb appeal at the property will also be part of your responsibilities, contributing to the overall aesthetic and welcoming environment of our community. This position requires a proactive approach to maintenance and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. You will be expected to be on call at times, demonstrating flexibility and readiness to address urgent maintenance needs as they arise. Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and preserving a multi-million dollar luxury community to ensure a quality living experience for residents.
  • Utilizing troubleshooting and technical skills to identify and resolve issues with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, sewer/water, swimming pools, and security systems.
  • Developing a strong rapport with residents and assisting them with resolving various general maintenance issues in a timely manner.
  • Working closely with the service team to prepare vacant apartment units for leasing per company specifications.
  • Helping the service team maintain strong curb appeal at the property.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of related general maintenance experience.
  • General knowledge and experience with HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, and basic carpentry.
  • CPO certification required (can be obtained after hire).
  • Fair housing training required; CAMT (Apartment Maintenance) certification preferred.
  • Some experience with MS Office Suite (Word and Outlook).
  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Experience in a luxury apartment community setting.
  • Additional certifications related to building maintenance or facilities management.
