Responsibilities
- Independently handles a wide range of repairs in single-family residential properties; addresses plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, and a range of other maintenance tasks
- Performs repairs to a high standard of quality
- Adheres to all fleet and driving policies
- Strict adherence to safety protocols and a commitment to creating and maintaining a safe work environment
- May provide some guidance and support to Maintenance Tech I roles
- Oversee and coordinate larger Maintenance, Turns, and Renovation projects
- Communicates with residents, and internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner both in person and through digital communication
- May perform inspection work and other work types for Property Management and Legal
- May interact with external parties on behalf of Sylvan in the market
- Participates in ongoing training to enhance technical skills and knowledge
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail in all repair, maintenance, and project tasks
- Manages time effectively to meet deadlines
- Maintains vehicle inventory of tools and supplies
- Adheres to all purchasing and authorized buyer policies and procedures
- Completes work and repairs to quality standards
- Completes and documents work in technology tools and systems with all work types dispatched
- Performs work according to the schedule, and within productivity standards
- Maintains vehicle inventory of tools and supplies
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Skilled in household maintenance, multi or single-family experience -required
- Understanding and ability to utilize powered and non-powered tools to complete repairs
- Must possess own hand tools
- Lift over 50 lbs. as part of daily function
- NATE HVAC certification preferred
- EPA 608 Certification - Universal or Type1 and Type 2 required
- Must be able to work in environmentally and physically challenging working conditions
- Valid Driver's License and insurance which must be maintained during employment
- Must live in and maintain an address in the required zone(s) where hired

- Must be able to do: Major appliance troubleshooting and repair, HVAC, Intermediate plumbing, Intermediate electrical, Sheetrock, General Carpentry, Wallpaper/painting, Landscaping, Superficial foundation/sidewalk repairs, Ice/snow removal (if applicable, depending on location), Cleaning, Inspections
