About the position

Mac Properties is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician II to join their team in Chicago. This full-time position involves ensuring that building appliances and infrastructure are functioning efficiently, contributing to the overall satisfaction of residents. The role requires a skilled individual who can perform various maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repairs, while providing excellent customer service. The technician will work Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM and will be on-call for alternating weekends.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned service requests and repairs in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
• Diagnose and perform installation, preventative maintenance, and/or repair of residential apartment buildings and units including electrical and plumbing repair, HVAC systems, and appliances.
• Perform preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis.
• Install electrical wiring and equipment; replace and repair wiring as needed.
• Repair electrical equipment and control circuits; replace faulty electrical switches.
• Perform duties to restore apartments to 'market ready' status, including inspecting vacated apartments and completing make-ready checklists.
• Maintain the overall condition of the building and grounds, including outside custodial duties.

Requirements

• Previous maintenance experience in a similar role.
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and refurbishing.
• Familiarity with various appliances.
• Valid driver's license and vehicle required.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Provide own basic tools and knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of tools.
