About the position
The position is responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of Housing Facilities Buildings at Utah State University. The role involves overseeing maintenance requests, ensuring safety and reliability of buildings, and conducting preventive maintenance to keep facilities in optimal condition.
Responsibilities
- Organize and oversee the day-to-day maintenance requests of assigned buildings.
- Ensure all work orders are taken care of in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct field checks of buildings to identify and analyze maintenance needs.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and make adjustments as necessary.
- Ensure all safety procedures are applied for all equipment and systems.
- Perform minor electrical maintenance including replacement or repair of fixtures.
- Perform minor plumbing maintenance such as unclogging drains and repairing leaks.
- Keep work areas, shops, and vehicles clean and organized.
- Operate and perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment.
- Create and maintain a positive teamwork environment to optimize department results.
- Support a positive relationship with residents and staff to ensure good customer service.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years directly related work experience in maintenance work or related trade.
- Valid driver's license to perform essential job responsibilities.
