About the position
Amentum is seeking a highly advanced Maintenance Technician III to join our Industrial CNC/Automation Equipment Maintenance team. This role involves troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing electrical and control systems of process and production equipment in an industrial environment. The technician will work primarily with CNC and control systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety compliance while maintaining effective communication with management and customers.
Responsibilities
- Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs process/production machines and related electrical equipment.
- Understands OEM equipment manuals and calibrates instrumentation equipment for optimum performance.
- Procures parts from crib systems, OEM, or authorized vendors.
- Identifies and documents cost savings.
- Develops and monitors work assignments and receives coaching as appropriate.
- Utilizes mechanical and electrical skills to complete assignments.
- Assists in creating and modifying site operations procedures for equipment and recommends reliability improvements.
- Performs preventive maintenance on process/production equipment as scheduled in the CMMS.
- Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while ensuring compliance to codes and regulations.
- Recommends activities to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
- Assists in analyzing and resolving work problems.
- Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.
- Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines and wearing PPE as required.
- Operates various measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments to provide energy efficiency solutions.
- Maintains a strict schedule while demonstrating flexibility in day-to-day activities and scheduling for customer benefit.
- Exhibits strong ownership skills, takes direction, and demonstrates excellent communication skills.
- Participates and adheres to the Amentum Safety Structure.
- Assists with Root Cause Analysis.
Requirements
- High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
- 4 years of experience performing electrical mechanical maintenance and repair on production equipment in an industrial environment or equivalent education and experience.
- Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
Nice-to-haves
- Associates degree or technical certification in Industrial Technology or related technical program.
- Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial production systems such as conveyors and coolant systems.
- Experience troubleshooting CNC machine tools and other complex mechanical systems.
- Experience troubleshooting robotic control systems such as Fanuc and ABB.
- Experience with alignments and timing machines using precision calibration tools.
- Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing pumps, motors, gearboxes, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing cranes and hoists.
- Experience utilizing measurement tools such as micrometers and dial indicators.
