About the position

The Maintenance Technician III position at Comar is a full-time role focused on maintaining and repairing production, HVAC, and facility equipment. The technician will ensure that all machinery operates efficiently and safely, adhering to quality and safety standards. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, based on production demands.

Responsibilities

  • Keep Production, HVAC, facility equipment and infrastructure in good working order.
  • Detect and correct errors before the machine or the products it produces are damaged.
  • Effectively operate equipment as required.
  • Disassemble equipment to repair or replace necessary parts.
  • Utilize knowledge of electrical, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and computer programming to repair sophisticated equipment.
  • Test machines after repairs to ensure they are running correctly and smoothly.
  • Perform tear downs, rebuilds, and preventive maintenance.
  • Participate in the development and training of Maintenance Technician I employees.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and adhere to safety policies.
  • Report any unsafe conditions to the supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School or Vo-Tech School graduate with 5 years related experience or training.
  • Completed certification in maintenance, mechanical, electrical, or other equipment-related discipline.
  • Reliable self-starter with a good attendance record.
  • Proficient in basic computer use with the ability to learn and use new systems quickly and efficiently.
  • Proficient in maintenance management systems.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement, six sigma, or lean manufacturing projects.
  • Working knowledge in pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, and computer programming.
  • Forklift Certified.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge and/or previous experience in blow molding, injection molding, or extrusion molding.
  • Experience with processing or troubleshooting of plastics manufacturing equipment.
