About the position

The Mechanic Technician position at Resilience is a direct labor role focused on supporting Packaging operations within a biomanufacturing environment. This role involves executing setup, changeover, repairs, and preventative maintenance for various production equipment, ensuring optimal performance through mechanical and electronic troubleshooting. The Mechanic Technician also provides training to Packaging Technicians and contributes to continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance tasks on various packaging equipment including picker, sorter, labeller, packer, checkweigher, printer, inspection equipment, palletizer, stretch-wrapper and conveyors.
  • Act as a first-line technical resource for the team, providing technical support to production technicians and resolving equipment-related issues.
  • Proactively monitor equipment and component level conditions, performing preventative maintenance tasks to prevent unplanned downtime.
  • Perform technician tasks including start-up, equipment operation, manual packaging, batch execution, material handling, rework, cleaning, housekeeping, and line clearance activities.
  • Operate light material handling equipment to safely move, store, or deliver material as needed.
  • Monitor material quality of incoming, in-process, and finished materials, escalating concerns as necessary.
  • Perform batch records, GMP documentation, and CMMS entries, including mathematical computations as needed.
  • Familiarize with job-related safety procedures and report discrepancies to the process facilitator.
  • Support lean activities and process improvement work, including 5S and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Act as a certified OJT trainer for assigned equipment or process tasks, conducting evaluations on team members.
  • Review process documents for accuracy and suggest process improvements while maintaining quality and compliance.
  • Execute protocols as part of equipment qualification and process validation work.
  • Be flexible and support other work areas within the Process Execution Team as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience in mechanical and electronic troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of packaging equipment and processes.
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on production equipment.
  • Familiarity with GMP documentation and batch records.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with technical resources.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Certification as an OJT trainer or similar training experience.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems for maintenance tracking.
