The Maintenance Mechanic - Locksmith is a vital role responsible for ensuring the security and functionality of various commercial and industrial properties through the installation, repair, and maintenance of locks and security systems. This position requires a skilled technician who is adept at working with both mechanical and electronic locks, as well as access control systems. The locksmith will be tasked with a variety of duties that include not only the physical installation and repair of locks but also the management of key systems and customer interactions. In this role, the technician will install, repair, and replace locks on a wide range of structures, including doors, windows, safes, and cabinets. This includes working with mechanical locks, electronic locks, keyless entry systems, and combination locks. The locksmith will also be responsible for cutting and duplicating keys with precision, ensuring compatibility with different lock models. Additionally, the technician will handle rekeying tasks, which involve changing the internal components of locks to render existing keys inoperable, and will create master key systems for properties that require multiple levels of access.
