We are looking for an experienced Industrial Millwright Mechanic with enthusiasm and interest in maintaining rotating equipment to join our Ecoservices Houston Plant team. In this position, you will be working with all types of chemical plant rotating equipment. On a daily basis, you will use your skills to troubleshoot, re-build and repair machinery, such as pumps, compressors, steam turbines, gearboxes, blowers and fans. You will maintain this industrial machinery using your know-how, technical information and manufacturer's specifications. You will be given work orders to fulfill each day and after completing the work, you'll be expected to document required information in the work orders. Ultimately, you will make sure that all rotating equipment machines operate properly, and that our facilities remain safe. You also sometimes may be working with different disciplines on rotating equipment systems in a fast-paced environment, such as during unit outages and turnarounds.

Responsibilities

  • Performing preventative maintenance tasks, inspection, and repairs on all rotating equipment, including gearboxes, compressors, pumps, steam turbines, blowers, and fans.
  • Performing annual mechanical integrity inspections on steam turbine emergency overspeed trip mechanisms.
  • Performing shop repairs on all types of rotating equipment with emphasis on process pumps.
  • Troubleshooting rotating equipment with excessive vibration, seal leaks, and performance issues.
  • Reading machinery and mechanical seal blueprints.
  • Maintaining and recording documentation for rotating equipment inspection and repairs, and mechanical integrity task.
  • Being responsible for emergency callouts and on-call duty.
  • Disassembling and inspection of rotating equipment in the shop, and then giving input to the Maintenance Engineers and Planners necessary repairs and or replacement parts needed.
  • Reading and understanding mechanical seal drawings, mechanical seal removal, installation, and pneumatic pressure testing.
  • Demonstrating use of reverse, rim/face, and laser alignment methods.
  • Demonstrating lubrication methods for all types of rotating equipment.
  • Using precision measuring tools, shop equipment such as drill press, band saw, hydraulic press, and bearing heaters.
  • Operate rigging machinery necessary to complete tasks such as: forklift, manlift, and cranes up to 15-tons.
  • Ability to perform job tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Responsible for safety policies that have been established at the Houston plant, i.e., Stop Work Policy, Zero Tolerance Policy, etc.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in the chemical or oil refinery environment as an industrial millwright.
  • Experience in pump repairs, mechanical seals, turbines, gearboxes, seal replacement, alignment and compressors.
  • Experience with use of reverse, rim/face, and laser alignment methods.
  • Experience with lubrication methods for all types of rotating equipment.
  • Must possess excellent computer skills.
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC).
  • Industrial Millwright certification (NCCER).
  • Licensed crane operator (minimum 15-ton crane).
  • Forklift certification.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Good knowledge of SAP for work orders.
