About the position

The Maintenance Technician (Night) position involves performing general and preventative maintenance services and related repairs to district buildings, structures, machinery, and equipment. This role is essential for ensuring the functionality and safety of the facilities, requiring a combination of technical skills and physical ability to handle various maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance duties in areas such as carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and more.
  • Ensure maintenance requests and work orders are completed satisfactorily.
  • Refer specialized work to appropriate trade leads and follow up on completion.
  • Maintain and service parking lots, including repairing holes.
  • Maintain tools and equipment required for maintenance tasks.
  • Keep an accurate inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Make emergency repairs within knowledge and responsibility.
  • Inspect machinery for proper functionality, including checking pressures and temperatures.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections.
  • Attend professional development events as required by district administration.
  • Perform duties assigned by the Manager of Facilities and/or Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Drive rental vehicles for transportation needs.
  • Move furniture/items between buildings.
  • Install doors, windows, fixtures, and signage.
  • Install fences and locks.
  • Install and maintain technology items and network low voltage.

Requirements

  • Trade or vocational school diploma or two years' experience in one or more building trades, or a combination of training and experience equating to three years.
  • Ability to input and manipulate data using a computer.
  • Working knowledge of two or more trades and mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge and ability to operate tools of the trade.
  • Availability to work beyond the normal work day/work week.
  • Required physical examination by a licensed physician.
  • Criminal history background check, drug screening, and eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders up to 20 feet.
  • Sufficient physical dexterity for heavy work in inclement weather.
  • Conscientiousness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to wear and use appropriate protective equipment.
