Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance inspections on plant equipment.
- Operate equipment necessary to complete tasks such as forklift, man lift, drill presses, pipe threader, grinders, saws and assorted hand tools.
- Assist in preparing the applicable work permits.
- Comply with all applicable site, corporate and regulatory safety and environmental requirements.
- Inspect, use and maintain necessary PPE in accordance with site PPE matrix.
- Report all safety or environmental incidents immediately and participate in the incident investigation.
- Ensure all applicable permits have been issued, equipment is properly locked out and tagged out, and the proper PPE and tools required for the specific job are used.
- Knowledgeable of the site contractor safety program.
- Ensure waste is properly labeled in compliance with local regulations.
- Ensure equipment approved for use is inspected.
- Perform any other duties/projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a maintenance technician and pipefitter.
- Certification in Pipefitting, Boilermaking, Crane operation or other similar certification.
- Proficient in threaded pipe fabrication and in flange assembly and torquing.
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
